Full Description:

Wabasso Beach Reopens to Beachgoers’ Delight

Although there were neither bands nor balloons for the long-awaited reopening of Wabasso Beach, Mother Nature pulled out all the stops to make it as spectacular as it gets on our Treasure Coast shores.

Cool temps in the low 70s, strong sea breezes and great-winged pelicans soared over head. Bright sunshine, blue skies and sparkling seas created a grand backdrop for a perfect beach day. Completing the post-card-perfect day were our sorely missed Life Guards and, nearly as life-saving when you urgently need them, those Port-a-Potties.

Thank you, Indian River County Commissioners and everyone who worked so hard to get our favorite beach re-open again six long months after Frances’ and Jeanne’s devastation.

Great quotes yesterday from Bill Baron of Boppies in his front-page interview in the Press Journal on the opening of Wabasso Park.
