Full Description:
Unity Center of Vero Beach invites the public to a screening of Kirk Douglas'
final movie, "Illusion."
The indie film tells the story of how our decisions shape our lives.
Douglas plays Donald Baines, a legendary Hollywood film director on his deathbed
when he gets a visit from the spirit of his deceased editor Stan Ron Marasco. Baines
is given the opportunity to see the son he never knew, the illegitimate offspring
of a one-night stand. He has three visions of him: as a gawky teenager, a Goth punk,
and finally, as a man about to be released from prison. It is at this crossroad
that his father can enter his son's life and help him make a right decision.
Emmy-winner Michael Goorjian (Party of Five), who wrote and directed the movie,
plays the son, Christopher Baines.
Movie fanatics will rejoice in the set-up for Baine's journey through time.
Everyone's past is captured on film, the kind that came on reels and was projected
onto the screen, like in a vintage movie theater.
Tickets are $10. Showtimes and locations are:
Unity of Vero, 950 43rd St. March 24 and 28 at 7pm.
